Two traditional rulers in Kwara state have been sanctioned for failing to maintain peace and order in their domains. -They have also been barred from attending any function in their official capacity until the matter is resolved. -The kings will forfeit three months salary as part of their punishment.

Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara state, on Wednesday declared that two traditional rulers involved in communal clash in Oke Ero local government area of the state will not have their salaries for three months.
The affected monarchs are the Alofa of Ilofa, Oba Samuel Dada; and the Olota of Odo Owa, Oba Toba Adimula.
The affected rulers are also not permitted to leave their domains except with the permission of the chairman of the Transition Implementation Committees of their local government areas.
Recall that the two communities – Ilofa and Odo Owa, were involved in communal clashes in May 2017 over superiority contest on the community that should first sell fresh yam in the common market in the area.
